Mining & Smithing
Charged ore nodes, the three Olympian metals, the pickaxe ladder from Hephaestus to Cyclopean, and Olymperium - the level-150 bar.
Rocks are nodes
Every rock on Olympus is a charged node. One click mines it continuously until the charge runs out; then it depletes and recharges on its normal timer. No re-clicking, no ore-per-click.
| Ore | Level | Capacity per charge |
|---|---|---|
| Copper, Tin, Clay | 1 | 50 |
| Iron | 15 | 40 |
| Silver | 20 | 40 |
| Coal | 30 | 40 |
| Gold | 40 | 30 |
| Mithril | 50 | 30 |
| Adamantite | 70 | 30 |
| Runite | 85 | 20 |
Orichalcum ore | 99 | 15 |
Aetherium ore | 125 | 10 |
Titansteel ore | 140 | 5 |
Essence rocks, the Titansteel Meteor and magic rocks are bottomless. Node state is shared - two players on the same rock split its charge. In the donator zones nodes hold +25% / +50% / +100% more, and the Rich Veins talent adds up to +75% on top.
Coal is stackable here.
The Olympian metals
At 99 Mining the Quarry of Hephaestus at home (Skills tab → Mining) opens up its Olympian veins - two Orichalcum and one Aetherium. Titansteel is not mined at home: it comes from the Titansteel Meteor event and from the mines in the three donator zones, each of which has five veins of all three metals. Each metal needs its own pickaxe and each bar needs the smithing gloves.
| Vein | Mining | Ore | Bar | Smithing | Coal per bar | Mining xp | Smelt xp |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Orichalcum | 99 | Orichalcum ore | Orichalcum bar | 99 | 8 | 8,000 | 600 |
| Aetherium | 125 | Aetherium ore | Aetherium bar | 125 | 10 | 9,000 | 750 |
| Titansteel | 140 | Titansteel ore | Titansteel bar | 140 | 12 | 10,000 | 900 |
| Olymperium | - | one of each bar above | Olymperium bar | 150 | none | - | 1,250 |
XP is the base on-screen drop before your multipliers.
Smelt at the Hephaestus furnace next to the veins: use the ore on it and enter an amount. You must be wearing
Olympian smithing gloves (99 Smithing, 60,000 Skilling Points) for any Olympian bar. Olymperium takes one Orichalcum, one Aetherium and one Titansteel bar and no coal - use any of the three on the furnace.
Olympian bars are Forge materials: 250 Orichalcum bars forge the Olympian pickaxe, 2,500 Titansteel bars the Cyclopean, 1,000 Titansteel the Aura of the Jack-of-Trades, and the Archaeology spade ladder eats all three. See Skilling tools & the Forge ladder.
The pickaxe ladder
Ordinary pickaxes cannot touch an Olympian vein. The ladder is bought once and then forged upward; every rung keeps everything the rung below could do.

Pickaxes work from the inventory or wielded.
The Titansteel Meteor
Every 30 minutes a Titansteel Meteor crashes somewhere on the home island (a panel line shows its bearing and tile). It is a bottomless vein of
Titansteel ore that lasts 500 ore or 15 minutes, whichever comes first, and needs 140 Mining and the Olympian or Cyclopean pickaxe.
- Every successful swing also has a 1 in 100 chance of
Starvein Dust, announced world-wide.
- The meteor pays triple Skilling Points.
- A 1 in 20,000 Blood orb roll rides along, as it does on runite.
This is the bulk Titansteel source - the fixed vein holds five ore a charge, the meteor holds hundreds. The 2,500 bars for the Cyclopean Pickaxe are sized around it. See World events.
Smithing beyond the bars
Standard smithing is unchanged: bars to the anvil, the usual tables. The Olympian bars have no armour recipes - they are forge materials. The Artisan talent tree is where smithers gain the most: Bulk Smithing smelts noted ore and smiths noted bars straight off the stack, Double Forge gives a chance at two products, and Flow saves materials the longer you work.
Donator zones save a lost iron bar 10/25/50% of the time.
