The Forge & the Five Currencies

How ::forge works, what every recipe costs, and where Dracma, Forgemarks, Titan Cores, Embers of Hephaestus and Ichor Motes actually come from.

The Forge

::forge opens the Forge from anywhere. Four tabs - Weapons, Armour, Accessories, Other (plus Seasonal while a season is live) - each split into categories by slot or purpose (Other holds Skilling and Archaeology; Accessories holds Relics). Pick a recipe, the required grid shows every material with your count against it, and Forge rolls it.

  • Every recipe has a success chance. Most gear is 60-80%; every skilling tool, spade rung, slayer lantern and the two god relics are 100% - anything that could eat your only tool on a failed roll is deliberately never a gamble.
  • Materials are consumed on every attempt, success or not.
  • The Master Smith talent (Provisions tree) adds up to +10% to every roll.
  • Recipes track completion - the Forge remembers what you have made.

The five currencies

Every recipe on the Forge costs the same five things in different amounts, on top of its item materials.

Dracma
The coin of the realm. From every kill and every skilling action; Hoplite-tier recipes cost 2.5M, Dragon Lord tier tens of millions, the god relics 100M.
Forgemark
The Forge's own currency. Comes only from salvaging gear in the Crucible and from the four raid keys - never from monster drops, so it cannot be farmed without playing. Costs run from 250k on a Hoplite recipe to 30M on Zeus' Stormseal.
Titan Core
The rare currency. Raid keys (8 each), the mystery-box ladder (4 in a Charmed box up to 30 in a Dragon box), and 56 boss and endgame drop tables. Recipes want 2-5 for early gear, 10 for Dragon Hunter, 25 for Dragon Lord and the god relics.
Ember of Hephaestus
The "rare-ish" currency, charged automatically by tier: 10 / 25 / 75 / 200 per attempt. Raid keys give 50, boxes 10-75, and it sits beside every Titan Core drop in the game at double the quantity.
Ichor Mote
The time gate. About 1 in 100 kills in endgame zones before drop rate, plus superiors, the Colossal Titan, the Dragon Masters raid and boxes. Gear recipes are sized in hours: Hero set 1,250-3,000 motes a slot, Dragon Hunter 6-12k, Dragon Lord 40-60k, the god relics 50k.

The Crucible - where Forgemarks come from

::crucible (or ::salvage) opens the Crucible: drop gear in and it is broken down into Forgemarks and Forge xp. Salvage value is computed from the item's gear score and the rarity of its rarest drop source - a 1/512 drop is worth about 8.6x a common one of the same stats, a 1/65,536 drop 18x - so there is no list to game and forge prices come from the same function.

  • Forge Mastery levels 1-50 from salvage xp, one perk point a level, spent on 18 perks across Yield, Automation and Forgework (which buffs Forge success rolls).
  • Auto-salvage: browse everything obtainable and tick what should be salvaged the moment it drops. A lock list protects anything you never want binned.
  • The old drop-rate exchange survives as a tab - marks can still buy permanent drop rate.

Ranked salvage pays 30-50% of what a craft costs, so salvaging your last tier funds most of the next.

Reading a recipe

A typical mid-tier skilling recipe, the Aetherium Crescent Hatchet:

MaterialAmountSource
Cyclopean Hewing Hatchet1The rung below - consumed
Ichorwood logs250What the rung below cuts
Dracma5,000,000
Forgemark2,000,000Crucible
Ember of Hephaestusauto by tier

Every ladder on Olympus - skilling tools, spades, relics, slayer helms, the gear sets - follows that shape: rung below + a stack of what the rung below produces + the currencies. You climb it; you never skip it.

Ladders on the Forge

  • Skilling tools - harpoons, pickaxes, hatchets, tinderbox, boots, secateurs and the eight perk items.
  • Archaeology spades and the Relics of the Titanomachy.
  • Slayer helms (six Greek ranks, Hoplite's to Basileus'), Umbral slayer lanterns, the Voidreaper Scythe.
  • The gear sets: Hero, Dragon Hunter, Dragon Masters, Dragon Lord, Tartarean, and the Olympian elixirs.
  • The season's own gear (Seasonal tab): see below.

The early and mid-game weapon ladder

Three rungs, each in sword, bow and staff, so every zone you pass through leads to a forge target. Each rung eats the one below it. There are no Titan Cores anywhere on this ladder: it is meant to be reachable by every player who works the zones.

Every one of these weapons also has its own special attack. The Sanguine set adds a Sanguine Mantle (cape, from the Reverie Cape) and a Sanguine Bulwark (shield, from the Reverie Offhand) at the same cost as the weapons.

The Seasonal tab

During a season, the Seasonal tab holds that season's recipes. In the Season of Hades that's the Stygian, Tribunal and Panoply sets, the boon upgrades, cannonballs and the Phial of Iron. Season recipes burn Tartarus coal instead of Embers (10 coal for every Ember a normal recipe would take), and you can also reach them at the Stygian Anvil in the Ashen Camp. See the Season of Hades guide.
