Every box sits on one value ladder anchored to the gear tiers, so a better box is always a better box. At the top, the Coffer of Hephaestus carries the seven-piece God's Battle set and the Supreme weapons - the best gear obtainable in the launch window.
One ladder for every box
Every set in the game has a single tier number - one figure that sizes every stat on every piece - and every box is pinned to the tier it pays. The order is the order you play through the game: the starter courts, the zones, Barrows, the endgame zones, the raid, the Forge.

There are no inversions - nothing lower on the ladder ever out-stats something above it. The Newbie box 
Newbie Mystery Box sits below all of it with starter consumables and small cash.
The Coffer of Hephaestus
Coffer of Hephaestus is the top box. It holds the seven-piece God's Battle set - 
God's Battle Aura, Ward, Helmet, Platebody, Platelegs, Boots and 
God's Battle Gloves - plus the Supreme weapons: the Staff, the Minigun and the Maul. The Supreme pieces carry a 10% edge over the rest of the set.
Rates are rolled rarest-first before the box's normal wheel: Supreme weapons 1/2,500, regular weapons 1/1,500, armour 1/1,000, jewellery and capes 1/750. A miss falls through to the normal table, so the box never pays nothing.
The store shows every box's full reel - every item, tier by tier with its odds - and tags each piece BIS, 2nd BIS or 3rd BIS for its slot, so you can see exactly what a box is worth before you open one.
